Info sign regarding the expansion of the children's museum in downtown Everett. Lots of the expansion signs in the downtown area seem to be exclusively in English, both saying that the majority of speakers in the area are English, and that there's an expectation that future residents will also only speak English.

Next to the S-Mart, Chinese grocery store, Terry’s kitchen may look more American than Asian. However, Terry’s kitchen is owned third generation Japanese immigrant Terry Takeuchi. Since its opening in 2017, Terry’s kitchen has been the center of the Asian immigrant and its descendants community not only of the city of Bellevue but also of its surrounding cities such as Seattle and Renton. For example during the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant faced a financial challenge, yet with the support of the community through gofundme campaign it survived.

Here's another Everett sign expecting most everyone reading it to understand English. I can't help but imagine if someone is non-English speaking how they would know what to and not to stay away from.

Ethnic grocery stores play an important role to engage immigrant communities. For example, at the entry, S-mart has a station for the local newspapers in Chinese language for free, which allows readers to digest the news without language barriers.
