The sign sets up the boundary for the residential area mostly filled up with single housing. It is across the street from the rental apartments and condos. I personally find it quite interesting that single houses are zoned for residential area where drivers are required to drive less than 25mph versus apartments across the street that is more densely populated is zoned as commercial with more main roads and higher speed cars.

Next to the S-Mart, Chinese grocery store, Terry’s kitchen may look more American than Asian. However, Terry’s kitchen is owned third generation Japanese immigrant Terry Takeuchi. Since its opening in 2017, Terry’s kitchen has been the center of the Asian immigrant and its descendants community not only of the city of Bellevue but also of its surrounding cities such as Seattle and Renton. For example during the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant faced a financial challenge, yet with the support of the community through gofundme campaign it survived.
